Career Nuggets – The Academy is a career support hub and ecosystem based in London.The Academy’s mission is to develop workplace excellence for individuals in the BME community from university students, to graduates, experienced professionals and leaders.
The academy delivers a continuous learning and development programme. This is headed by the founder, career experts, mentors and coaches who set out to educate, empower, and enlighten mentees through career counselling and leveraging a nurturing extensive network of 2000+ BME professionals who share insight and real experiences.
Our programmes has had tremendous breakthroughs in achieving its goals. So far we’ve empowered 2000+ professional recipients, secured 50 work placements and supported 50 individuals in securing roles to progress their careers. Of the 15 individuals that were mentored this year in the wake of Covid19, 8 have secured jobs. The impact of Career Nugget support hub and ecosystem is clear to see.

Kemi Bolarin is the Head of Treasury Europe at GXO Logistics. She joined GXO in July 2021, previously she was Director, Treasury at GTT Communications and prior to that, Group Treasury Director at Travelport. Kemi is a chartered accountant (ACA) & qualified corporate treasurer (AMCT) with over 25 years’ experience in the banking and corporate sector, working in various treasury and finance roles. Outside structured work, Kemi is a board member of a multi-academy trust and the Dean of Career Nuggets Academy. She is actively involved in delivering mentoring to schools and young female leaders; and engaged in various initiatives towards inspiring the ‘future’.
Ayo Popoola (Bsc, MA, Prince 2, AWS Practitioner) is currently the Global Head of Market Operations Technical Operations at Citi Group.
Having studied banking and Finance he started out his career as a Trading Floor Analyst in 1994. His role has expanded over the years to leading multiple teams across the front office functions in Investment Banking to include regional and Global leadership of Equities and Derivs, Prime Finance, Global Futures Execution and Market Operations. He loves to mentor and coach the up and coming leaders.
Funke Sadare Chartered Fellow CIPD is an experienced HR Director with MA in Human Resources Management. She is currently the HR Director for Global University Systems. Funke has a wealth of operational and strategic HR experience spanning two decades in the Private sector – FMCG, Construction, Facilities Management, Private Education, Real Estate, Housing and the third sector. Her core areas of expertise are stakeholder management of senior executives and business leaders and leading transformational HR initiatives both on a local and global scale.
Funke is success-driven and leads passionately by expending her strong coaching and mentoring skills on professionals both at work and within her circle of influence. She is a seasoned contributor to several publications, workshops and seminars on topical HR issues. She is also a keen advocate of ongoing personal and professional development as this is a key requirement for career growth and success. Her practical career advice will propel every professional to take the necessary steps to progress in their career path.

Tunde Muyiwa is currently Chief Compliance Officer at The Analyst, a City equity research investment firm.
A Director of Regulation and Compliance, Tunde has a global experience of advising banks, investment firms and financial advisers on the implementation of financial crime, compliance and risk controls. His global presence extends to UK, US, Canada, Singapore, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland and the Channel Islands.
A finance graduate of the University of Lagos and a Chartered member of the UK Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), ‘Tunde has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry and has held senior compliance roles at a number of global financial institutions including Societe Generale Private Banking where he was Head of UK Compliance, Blenheim Capital Services Ltd (Chief Compliance Officer), Sanlam Investments UK (Head of Compliance). Tunde also spent 6 years at the UK regulator, FSA (now FCA) supervising a portfolio of financial institutions, asset managers, stockbrokers and financial advisers.
As a side hustle,Tunde runs a real estate business with a focus on the residential market.
A keen mentor, in particular to those looking to invest for the future, be it in investments or real estate, Tunde regularly mentors young people and speaks at seminars as a way of giving back to the community.
Kenny was appointed as Programme Director – Patient Safety at Imperial College Health Partners in July 2016, he is now the Associate Director for Quality Improvement and Safety.
Prior to joining the partnership, he held a director role in a consultancy providing risk management services to the NHS, local authorities and the private sector.
Kenny brings a range of public sector as well as commercial and consulting experience to the partnership.
