Augustina Igbehinadara-Eruja, affectionately known as “Ma Ig,” is a passionate community builder, mentor, and advocate dedicated to empowering newcomers as they navigate their journey to successful lives in Canada. Through her grassroots initiatives, Eagle Meeting and Eagle Canada, she has spent more than a decade providing free mentorship, settlement guidance, career support, and community resources to immigrants across Canada. Since relocating to Winnipeg in 2017, she has continued to expand her impact by leading a network of more than 12 active digital communities, supported by over 25 volunteer administrators, helping hundreds of newcomers and Black professionals confidently integrate into Canadian society.

With academic backgrounds in Community Health and Social Care, Business Administration, and a Master’s degree in Human Resources, alongside more than 17 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families, Augustina combines professional expertise with genuine compassion. Her work is driven by a belief that strong communities are built through collaboration, mentorship, and service. Through initiatives such as the upcoming Eagle Canada: “Are You Fully Landed” programme, she continues to create sustainable pathways for career readiness, economic empowerment, and social integration, ensuring newcomers are equipped to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their new home.
