A former police officer, she is currently completing a double major in Applied Disaster and Emergency Studies and Geography (Geomatics) at Brandon University, where she has earned recognition for her academic excellence and leadership, including the university’s prestigious Women of Excellence Award. Through professional placements with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and Manitoba Public Health, she has developed expertise in emergency management, disaster preparedness, public safety, and community resilience.

Beyond her professional and academic achievements, Anita is a dedicated volunteer, cultural ambassador, gospel singer, and foster parent whose leadership is rooted in compassion and service. From coordinating performances for the Nigerian Pavilion at the Westman Multicultural Festival to volunteering within her faith community and opening her home to children in need, she consistently demonstrates integrity, humility, and a passion for uplifting others.
